Ackerman and Trina Robbins in 1969 for Warren Publishing. She first appeared in Warren Publishing's black-and-white horror-comics magazine Vampirella (which she "hosted"). The character's first story artist was Tom Sutton, and Frank Frazetta's first-issue cover "was a substitute for the original cover by European artist Aslan."
