A 1980s Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Forty by Sixty Movie Poster (measures 40" x 60") (Learn More) Gone with the Wind, the classic 1939 Victor Fleming (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film) Civil War era romantic melodrama epic ("The Greatest Motion Picture Ever Made!"; "In the New Screen splendor... The most magnificent picture ever!"; "David O. Selznick's production of Margaret Mitchell's story of the Old South"; "Screen play by Sidney Howard"; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Clark Gable (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; "as Rhett Butler"), Vivien Leigh (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; "and presenting Vivien Leigh as O'Hara"), Leslie Howard ("as Ashley Wilkes"), Olivia de Havilland (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; "as Melanie"), Hattie McDaniel ("as Mammy"), Thomas Mitchell ("as Gerald O'Hara"), Butterfly McQueen (as Prissy), Ann Rutherford ("as Carreen O'Hara"), George Reeves (in his first credited movie role!), Victor Jory, Jane Darwell, Ward Bond, Ona Munson ("as Belle Watling"), Yakima Canutt, Harry Davenport ("as Dr. Meade"), Carroll Nye ("as Frank Kennedy"), Laura Hope Crews ("as Aunt Pittypat"), Alicia Rhett ("as India Wilkes"), Barbara O'Neil ("as Ellen O'Hara"), Marcella Martin (as Cathleen Calvert), Frank Coghlan Jr., Fred Crank, Rand Brooks, Cammie King Conlan, Patrick Curtis, and William Bakewell NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster looks extremely similar to the 1980 re-release poster, but instead of the tiny "GAU" printer logo at the bottom, it has a "GCIU" logo on it, and since the GCIU did not begin until 1983, it is 100% certain that it was printed in 1983 or later. Please do not bid on this poster thinking it is the 1980 re-release poster, because it is a undated re-release from the 1980s (although it looks almost identical to the R80 poster). NOTE: This 40x60, plus many others that eMoviePoster is selling this week came from a most extraordinary collection. They were purchased by a collector when these films were issued and have been carefully stored under ideal conditions ever since! The result is that these posters are as near to perfect as any 40x60s we have ever sold (or just about any movie posters for that matter!)! If you purchase any of these, you will see that they truly look as though they might have just been printed (although each may have a few minute defects, which you would have to pore over the poster to find). Just finding these titles in a 40x60 size might take years, as they are far more rare than the corresponding one-sheet. To find them in this condition might take one the rest of their life! In the past few months we have sold other 40x60s (and 30x40s, one-sheets, inserts, and lobby card sets) for this collector, and they have sold for far more than they usually do in lesser condition, as collectors have correctly realized that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Condition: fine. Learn More about condition grades
