Date Sold 11/21/2023Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Autographed 5" x 6 3/4" [13 x 17 cm] Album Page (Learn More) James Cagney was a legendary actor from the 1930s to the 1980s. He was a huge success in crime movies in the early 1930s (almost always playing a gangster), and that unfortunately typecast him in those roles, but he continually fought against it, and he made several wonderful non-gangster movies as well. Some of his movies include: The Public Enemy, Yankee Doodle Dandy (winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), White Heat, Ragtime, Angels With Dirty Faces (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), The Roaring Twenties, One, Two, Three, Love Me Or Leave Me (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film) and scores of others! He retired from show business completely in 1961, but he was coaxed out of retirement to appear in Milos Formal's Ragtime in 1981. He passed away in 1986 at the age of 86. And now you can see headshots of James Cagney in our gallery, Through The Years: James Cagney (from 1930 to 1984)! AND Eddie Quillan was an actor from the 1920s to the 1980s. He was a baby-faced comedian (who never seemed to age!) who appeared in a large number of comedies throughout the 1920s and 1930s, and he also appeared in some A-movies as well, including: The Grapes of Wrath (where he played Connie), Mutiny on the Bounty, and Fury. He passed away in 1990 at the age of 83. Important Added Info: This album page has been personally autographed (signed) by BOTH James Cagney AND Eddie Quillan (each person signed one side of the page)! It could be matted with a vintage or repro still and framed together to make a cool display (of course, the new owner would have to choose which side to display!). Also note that the item comes with a "certificate of authenticity" from William Allemeier. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: fair to good. There are stains on both sides of the album page, but fortunately, they have little effect on Cagney's autograph (see our images). Learn More about condition grades
