An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Keep Your Powder Dry, the 1945 Edward Buzzell World War II (WWII) females-in-the-military WAC (Women's Army Corps) romantic melodrama ("Three women in a man's world") starring Lana Turner, Laraine Day, Susan Peters, Agnes Moorehead, Bill Johnson, Natalie Schafer, Lee Patrick, Jess Barker, June Lockhart, Marta Linden, Tim Murdock, and Henry O'Neill. Note that this was a pretty standard World War II Home Front melodrama about the trials and tribulations faced by women in the Army, but MGM knew they had three glamorous young women, and they wisely sold the movie based on their sex appeal. Also note that this movie was filmed right before Susan Peters' tragic accident (a gun accidentally discharged during a duck hunt, and she was shot, becoming paralyzed from the waist down), but it was not released until afterward. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had several extra folds, with many creases and scuffs along the folds, with smudges and stains in Turner's face. There were pinholes, stains, and tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
