An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Japanese Export Movie Poster (measures 29 1/4" x 40 3/4") (Learn More) Nihonkai Daikaisen (released in the U.S. in 1970 as "Battle of the Japan Sea"), the 1969 Seiji Maruyama Japanese Toho historical Russo-Japanese War Navy Naval military thriller melodrama ("The vastness, the agony, the bloodshed of Japan's war with Russia in 1904") starring Toshiro Mifune, Yuzo Kayama, Tatsuya Kakadai, Ryutaro Tatsumi, Chishu Ryu, Mitsuko Kusabue, and Koshiro Matsumoto NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a Japanese export poster. This means that it was printed in Japan, but was intended to be used when the movie was shown in English speaking countries. Condition: good to very good. The poster had paper loss at the top crossfold and small paper loss at the other two crossfolds. There were some creases, tears, and tiny areas of paper loss on parts of some foldlines, and some creases and tears in the borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed. You can see signs of the restoration of the above defects from close up, but from any reasonable viewing distance, they are not very distracting. Learn More about condition grades
