An Original 1962 Vintage Theatrical Folded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Ein Toter Hing Im Netz (released in the U.S. in 1962 as "It's Hot in Paradise", and re-edited with new footage and released in 1965 as "Horrors of Spider Island"), the 1960 Fritz Bottger German/Yugoslavian sexploitation movie ("Blood-Curdling! Hair-Raising! Spine Chilling!"; "One bite from a giant spider turned him into the world's most hideous monster with a diabolical lust to KILL!"; "The monster is terror-crazed by his deathly fear of fire!"; "He strangles his victims with his mammoth claws!") starring Alexander D'Arcy (billed as "Alex D'Arcy"), Barbara Valentin (billed as "introducing Barbara Valentine"), Rainer Brandt, Harald Marsch, Elfie Wagner, and Dorothee Parker. Note that this was a low budget 1960 German/Yugoslavian sex movie about seven beautiful girls who crash land on a desert island with one man. I have not been able to find out the full story on this movie, but it seems that it was first released in the United States in 1962 as "It's Hot in Paradise", as it was originally filmed, and that in 1965, additional material was filmed that involved the man being bitten by a radioactive spider (shades of Spider-Man!), which turned him into a "half man/half spider", apparently with terrible special effects, and this massively re-edited version of the movie was titled "Horrors of Spider Island"! We have never auctioned any posters from 1962 with the title "It's Hot in Paradise", but we have auctioned lobby cards, stills, and a pressbook. We are listing "Horrors of Spider Island" and "It's Hot in Paradise" as two separate titles, because of the three year gap between the two, and because this one is massively re-edited from the other. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. There is what appears to be faint scuffing in some parts of the solid colored areas of the image. This is a fairly common printing defect on lobby cards, inserts and half-sheets of this era (it had something to do with the way they were printed in 1965). There is a single tiny pinhole in each blank corner. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
