An Original Vintage Theatrical Tri-Folded Swedish Movie Poster (measures 23 1/2" x 39 1/4") (Learn More) The Flame and the Arrow, the 1950 Jacques Tourneur medieval Italy swashbuckling adventure thriller ("All the Adventure a man can live, he lives... all the stirring excitement screen drama can give will be given you when Warner Bros present..."; "No army could stop him! No dungeon could hold him!"; "The challenge is hurled from the ramparts! He'll fight to the death for the love of his life!"; "No adventures so stirring since screen adventure began!"; "Written by Waldo Salt") starring Burt Lancaster ("performing actual feats of daring unmatched by any star"), Virginia Mayo, Robert Douglas, Aline MacMahon, Frank Allenby, and Nick Cravat NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This Swedish poster measures 23 1/2" x 39 1/4" and is tri-folded. This poster was tri-folded only (which means there is no vertical foldline). Note that when this movie came out, it was a very big deal that star Burt Lancaster actually did all his own stunts in the movie. Warner Brothers had an elaborate ad campaign that promised one million dollars (which they showed in cash in newsreels!) to anyone who could show that a stunt man had done even one of Lancaster's stunts. The poster offered here is a special promotional poster outlining this million dollar offer. Note that one would think there was a corresponding special U.S. promotional poster, but if so, I have never seen it. Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
