He was the screenwriter and/or producer on several of the best remembered romantic comedies of the 1950s, including; That Touch of Mink, Pillow Talk (winner of the Best Screenplay Academy Award for this film), Lover Come Back, and many others. He passed away in 1990 at the age of 65. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Stanley Shapiro! Our consignor was a freelance journalist in the 1970s and 1980s, and he wrote a long letter to Mr. Shapiro replied with this 5-page letter, which he signed his name on, and which he has now consigned to us. Note that our consignor had sent Mr. Shapiro a photocopy of a newspaper article (see our image) which quotes Mr. Shapiro extensively. In Mr. Shapiro's reply, he says that the quotes are ridiculous, and that they must be "something the publicity department dreamed up"!
