Behrman"; about a nightclub singer who marries a rich playboy, and she wants him to shape up, so she gets his father to cut him off financially, but that turns him into a bum, and she leaves him; losing his wife causes him to change his ways and he gets a good job, and eventually, the couple is happily reunited) starring Carole Lombard, Gene Raymond, Monroe Owsley, Donald Cook, Arthur Hohl, Irene Ware, and Theresa Maxwell Conover NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1933 movie paper from this Carole Lombard movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single poster or lobby card from this movie until we received this half-sheet! Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Note that because this poster was paperbacked onto a thicker paper backing, it CAN'T be sent rolled (someone could conceivably roll it or try to do so, but we think it would have a strong chance of lessening its condition, so we will only send it in a large flat package, unless the buyer insists, and then they would be responsible for any damage). What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster was never folded. It had pinholes, creases, and a few tears around the edges. It had many stains scattered throughout, including throughout both stars' faces. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to paperbacking. A talented restorer paperbacked the poster, and they did a nice job, considering the poster's significant defects, but they did not paint over the stars' faces, both because it would have given the poster a "heavily restored" look, and also because it displays fairly well without that being done (of course, it displays much better from a reasonable viewing distance than when you look at the poster close up). Please look closely at our super-sized image to see what we are talking about, and please do not bid on this incredibly rare poster unless you can accept the substantial restoration it has had and its current appearance. Obviously, one might prefer to find a better condition example of this poster, but that might take practically forever to find. Learn More about condition grades
