Circus, the circus poster encouraging people to visit a traveling circus and featuring classic circus-themed art! The Cole Bros. Circus was founded in 1884 by William Washington Cole. In the 1930s and 1940s, the circus often worked with noted animal trainer and actor Clyde Beatty (who owned his own show). In 1957, investors merged the two into the Clyde Beatty - Cole Bros. Circus and the show became a major player in the circus industry for over 20 years. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was folded down the middle and had some tiny tears and bits of paper loss near the middle of that area, and it had pinholes around the edges, with tears in the top left corner, affecting the "B". Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
