Buzzell theater stage acting mistaken identity romantic musical comedy farce ("Lovable, musical, comical"; "The boys are losing their heads over her!"; about an actor who has written a satirical musical play about Napoleon, having the almost-world conqueror singing and dancing; a major producer turns him down, and that's no surprise, but then a man who has written a serious play about Napoleon invites the producer to come to his farm to talk about producing it, and the actor learns of this and goes in the producer's place, pretending to be the producer, and that's just the beginning of this incredibly zany comedy, and it shows scenes of the comic Napoleon play, with Jack Haley playing Napoleon, which has to be seen to be believed!) starring Ann Sothern, Jack Haley, Roger Pryor, Thurston Hall, Victor Kilian, and Ray Walker. Note that this is a completely forgotten movie today except by major film buffs, which is a real shame, because those who have seen it agree it is very funny, and it seems a certainty that Mel Brooks must have seen this movie, because there are strong parallels between it and his classic "The Producers"!
