An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Swedish Movie Poster (measures 27 1/2" x 39 1/4" [70 x 100 cm]) (Learn More) Ansiktet (released in the U.S. in 1959 as "Ingmar Bergman's The Magician" and released in England as "The Face"), the 1958 Ingmar Bergman Swedish turn-of-the-century medical charlatan melodrama ("An eerie journey into the unknown... so powerful it will clutch at your throat!"; about a magician who has a traveling show where he promises to cure people of what ails them, and he arrives in a town where a doctor intends to prove him to be a fake) starring Max Von Sydow, Ingrid Thulin, Gunnar Bjornstrand, Naima Wifstrand, Bengt Ekerot, Bibi Andersson, Gertrud Fridh, and Lars Ekborg NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Ranke Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Swedish movie! We have only auctioned one other example of this poster from the first release of this movie in Sweden and that was in 2014 (and it sold for $1,280!). Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster was tri-folded only. It has creases in the center of the upper and lower horizontal folds (approximately 8-9" from the right and left edges - see our image.) The creases at lower left have some tiny tears and a tiny area of paper loss and there is a pinhole-sized dot of paper loss in the "A" of the title. The creases at upper right are not very noticeable. There are a few tiny tears along portions of the left edge and there are some very light creases at bottom. Fortunately the few minor defects affect areas of solid-colored paper, and it is otherwise in pretty nice condition, and after a relatively simple linenbacking the very rare and desirable poster will display really well!
