Reports described 'a killing machine', 'a bizarre freak of nature, a force of superhuman strength'. The townspeople denied its existence. The earth is stained with the blood of those who found it real"; "The real story of the Cropsy Horror"; "Created and Produced by Harvey Weinstein"; "Story by Harvey Weinstein, Tony Maylamb, Brad Grey"; "Screenplay by Peter Lawrence and Bob Weinstein") starring Brian Matthews, Leah Ayres, Brian Backer, Larry Joshua, Lou David (billed as "Lou David as Cropsy"), Ned Eisenberg, Jason Alexander (in his first movie role, with hair!), Carrick Glen, Fisher Stevens (in his first movie role), and Holly Hunter (in her first movie role). Note that this was the very first movie produced by Harvey Weinstein, who went on to win an Academy Award for Shakespeare in Love! However, in 2017, numerous allegations of sexual assault between Weinstein and dozens of actresses came to light. In 2020, he was convicted of two felonies, and sentenced to 23 years in prison.
