An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Tovarich, the 1937 Anatole Litvak France/Russia royalty romantic comedy ("--tonight's our night!"; "Adapted from the play by Jacques Deval"; "English version by Robert E. Sherwood"; about a Russian couple who flee to France with a vast fortune during the Russian Revolution; but they choose to work as personal servants, because the money is to be used to restore the Russian monarchy!) starring Claudette Colbert, Charles Boyer, Basil Rathbone, Anita Louise, Melville Cooper, Isabel Jeans, Morris Carnovsky, and Victor Kilian. Note that this was a famous French play that was turned into a French movie in 1935, and then the rights to it were bought by Warner Bros. in 1937. This was a movie where Claudette Colbert fought continuously with the director over her solely being filmed from one profile, and she wanted the cinematographer fired, but the director refused, and Colbert added to her reputation for being difficult to work with and for being incredibly sensitive to only being filmed from one side! Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good to fine. The glass slide itself is in nice condition and the cardboard holder has some minor smudges (as can be seen in our super-sized images).
