Saga of Death Valley, the 1940 Joseph Kane California singing cowboy western musical (Original story by Karen De Wolf) starring Roy Rogers, George 'Gabby' Hayes, Don 'Red' Barry (billed as "Donald Barry"), Doris Day (not the famous actress/singer, but another actress with the same name!), Frank M. Thomas, Jimmy Wakely and His Rough Riders (including Jimmy Wakely, Dick Reinhart, and Johnny Bond), and Trigger (uncredited in this early Roy Rogers film)

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tiny tears and tiny areas of paper loss scattered in the center of the vertical foldline and a lesser amount on the other folds. It had some pinholes and tears around the edges. There was a diagonal scuff mark in the top right corner in Rogers' hat. There was another in the top left in Hayes' hat and some surface paper loss in his temple and in his beard. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above, and they did not leave any excess linen. Any talented restorer could either touch up the poster without re-backing it, or they could of course re-back it. But bear these defects in mind before placing a bid on this poster.
