The poster had some extra horizontal folds, with many creases, scuffs, and some faint stains scattered throughout. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. Linenbacking has diminished how noticeable the above defects, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
