Slap Shot, the classic 1977 George Roy Hill ice hockey action sports romantic comedy ("Certain language may be too strong for children"; "You'll see Paul Newman doing things you'd never expect him to do... saying things you'd never expect him to say!"; "Slap Shot out slaps... out swears... out laughs..."; this film was quite daring in its day for its coarse use of language and its misogynistic attitude towards women; surprisingly, it was written by a woman, Nancy Dowd, but I think her point was to show the world just how misogynistic many men are!) starring Paul Newman, Michael Ontkean, Lindsay Crouse, Jennifer Warren (NOT the singer who was also known as Jennifer Warnes), Jerry Houser, Strother Martin, and Jeff Carlson, Steve Carlson, and David Hanson (as The Hanson Brothers, who surely accounted for a large part of the movie's great success!)
