You Can Help: American Red Cross, the 1918 U.S. World War I (WWI) Home Front charity poster encouraging people to donate to the Red Cross, and featuring Wladyslaw T. Benda artwork of a woman knitting a garment. During World War I, many Americans on the home front did their part for the war effort by knitting. The American Red Cross coordinated much of this work, providing patterns and requesting sweaters, scarves, wristlets (fingerless gloves), and socks.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had pretty minor wear on the folds. It had some creases and scuffs scattered in the image, and some small tears and small paper loss in the borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
