An Original Vintage English Magazine (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]) (Learn More)

Penthouse ("The Magazine For Men") is an adult magazine from 1965 to the present. It was founded by Robert 'Bob' Guccione in England in 1965, when the first issue was published, and each English issue combined urban lifestyle articles and softcore pornographic pictorials that, in the 1990s, temporarily evolved into hardcore. Something that Penthouse had that Playboy lacked was the "Penthouse Forum" filled with wild stories from readers, which many people suspected were entirely fictional, but were presented as fact. In 1969, Guccione launched the American version of his magazine, but the early English issues are FAR more rare than the American ones. The Penthouse logo is a stylized key which incorporates both the Mars and Venus symbols in its design. The magazine's centerfold models are known as Penthouse Pets and customarily wear a distinctive necklace inspired by this logo. Penthouse has also branched out into video production and a safe-for-all-ages humor magazine called Penthouse Max
Important Added Info: Note that this is part of a very unusual and very rare consignment! We were consigned the first twelve issues of the English version of Penthouse magazine, from March 1965 (vol 1 no 1) through August 1966 (vol 1 no 12), and they are being auctioned in twelve separate auctions. These magazines are FAR more rare than the U.S. versions that followed them, and they are rarely offered for sale, especially in nice condition. This is a good opportunity to acquire one or many of these rare and historic magazines!

Note that this item contains some nudity, so we have placed a white bar over those areas for those who are bothered by such images. Of course, the actual item does not have the white bars. Also note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided.

Condition: very good. The magazine is in a bag and board.
