An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Military One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, the classic 1963 Alfred Hitchcock suspense horror thriller ("Nothing you have ever witnessed before has prepared you for such sheer stabbing shock!"; "'It could be the most terrifying motion picture I have ever made!' - Alfred Hitchcock"; "'...and remember, the next scream you hear may be your own!'"; "The birds is here!"; "Daphne Du Maurier's shattering psychic thriller."; "Based on Daphne Du Maurier's Classic Suspense Story!") starring Rod Taylor, Jessica Tandy, Suzanne Pleshette, Tippi Hedren (billed as "Introducing 'Tippi' Hedren, A Fascinating New Personality"), Veronica Cartwright (13 years old), and Richard Deacon. Note that Alfred Hitchcock used the two taglines "The birds is coming!" and "The birds is here!" on several different types of advertising for this movie, no doubt because he thought it was funny that while it is technically grammatically correct when referring to the movie, they "sound wrong"! Important Added Info: Note that this is the first time we have auctioned a military one-sheet for this movie! Military one-sheets were printed at the same time as the regular U.S. one-sheets when the movie was first released. They were made to be used on U.S. military installations. Sometimes the poster has small writing at the bottom that says "For Distribution and Use at U.S. Military Establishments Only", and sometimes they just have "Litho in U.S.A." or "Printed in U.S.A." in small letters in the lower right or lower left (most often, the ones that were used in the 1950s in the Korean War have "Litho in U.S.A.", and the ones that were used in the 1960s in the Vietnam War have "Printed in U.S.A.). This is one of the posters that says "Printed in U.S.A.". Condition: good to very good. There are some jagged tears at left in Hitchcock's image and there are pinholes around the edges. There is a partial horizontal crease at lower right under Hedren's inset image. It is otherwise in pretty good condition and if after a simple linenbacking the poster will look great!
