Date Sold 8/14/2018Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. A 1958 Re-Release Unfolded Special Movie Poster (measures 30 1/2" x 239 1/2" [77 x 608 cm]) (Learn More) Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the classic 1937 David Hand Walt Disney animated animation family romantic fairy-tale fantasy musical cartoon ("His first full length feature production"; "In the Marvelous Multiplane Technicolor"; "Behold The Miracle of the Movies! Coming to amaze you, charm you, thrill you!"; "With Eight new songs as catching as 'The Big Bad Wolf.'"; "To thrill you"; "Merriment!"; "Melody!"; "Magic!"; "The dwarfs sing their marching song on the way to work."; "Walt Disney's first full length feature production"; "The show sensation of the generation!"; "Wondrously filmed in all the glories of the marvelous multiplane Technicolor"; "The Screen's Supreme Thrill! 1,000 artists worked three years to give you this once-in-a-lifetime show!... A full hour and a half of the most enthralling entertainment you ever experienced... truly the miracle in motion pictures!") featuring the voices of Adriana Caselotti (in the title role as Snow White), Harry Stockwell (as the Prince), Lucille La Verne, Moroni Olsen, and Stuart Buchanan. Note that this movie is always referred to as a "1937" movie, but it actually only had a limited opening in December 1937 (no doubt to qualify for the Oscars), and then it had its wide opening in February 1938. But because it is always referred to as being from 1937, we refer to it that way as well (and of course, it is technically correct). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have once before auctioned this poster, and it auctioned for $890! THAT POSTER WAS IN LESSER CONDITION THAN THIS EXAMPLE, BUT BECAUSE OF HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO PHOTOGRAPH THIS POSTER, WE ARE USING THE IMAGE FROM THAT LAST AUCTION (but we clearly describe the exact condition of this poster in the condition description below). Also note that this is almost certainly the WIDEST Snow White poster known to exist (it is 12 feet wide). It could be incredible at the top of a 12 foot long wall, perhaps at a preschool (the possibilities are endless). Note that the poster has small metal grommets inserted into the borders (see our image). This would allow it to be quickly and easily displayed by putting nails or tacks in the appropriate places on a wall, and then simply putting the grommets over the nails or tacks (and there would be no framing cost). Note that this special poster was printed in 4 sections designed to overlap. Also note that prior to being displayed the pieces of this poster were glued together and a grommet was placed at the top of each joined area (and this was also true of the other example of this poster we auctioned). Condition: good to very good. The sections of the poster were attached together with glue and a grommet at the top of each area where they joined and then the poster (which had never been folded) was rolled together and stored that way. IMPORTANT! The poster has masking tape on the front and back of the top left and top right corners (an approximately 2" x 3" area in each case). The extreme far right border also has some brown stains scattered down the right 2", with a few small stains in each of Snow White's shoulders. You WON'T see the tape and stains described above in our image, because in this one case only, we did not take a new image of this poster, but instead used an image from the only other time we sold it. So please bid based on the condition description described here and not on the "stock" image we used this one time only. Learn More about condition grades
