An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Haunting, the 1963 Robert Wise (billed as "Producer-Director of West Side Story") horror thriller ("You may not believe in ghosts but you cannot deny terror"; "A dead hand beckoning from another world, a voice whispering from lifeless lips..."; "Based on the novel 'The Haunting of Hill House' by Shirley Jackson") starring Julie Harris, Claire Bloom, Richard Johnson, Russ Tamblyn, and Fay Compton NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had creases and scuffs across the top foldline and a lesser amount on the lower two foldlines. There were some pinholes and small tears around the edges of the poster. There are a couple of scuff marks in the center of the poster in the "RT" of "ROBERT". The poster was nicely backed, and looks great, but the scuff marks at the center of the poster were left as is (if the new owner cared, it would be extremely easy for a restorer to touch up those minor scuff marks).
