An Original 1950s (from the first release of this movie in Morocco) Vintage Theatrical Folded Moroccan Movie Poster (measures 29 1/4" x 41 1/4" [74 x 105 cm]) (Learn More) Love Happy, the 1949 David Miller musical screwball comedy ("New Musical Girlesque!!!"; "Their Newest! Funniest! Musical!") starring the Marx Brothers (Groucho, Chico, and Harpo), Ilona Massey ("Screendom's most beautiful blonde!"), Vera-Ellen ("Thrills in the torrid 'Sadie Thompson' dance!"), Marion Hutton ("She swings with the strings of your heart!"), Raymond Burr, Melville Cooper, Leon Belasco, Paul Valentine, Eric Blore, Bruce Gordon, Otto Waldis, and Marilyn Monroe (in only her second credited movie role!). What is remarkable is that the people who designed the posters put pictures of three pretty girls on them, but did not manage to make Marilyn Monroe one of them, surely a major blunder. She WAS pictured on one of the lobby cards, but that seems to have been almost by chance! I know this was because she was unknown at the time, but I would think they would have recognized her obvious assets! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: G.R. Debureau Important Added Info: Note that this poster surely dates from 1953 or possibly a few years after. It does not date from 1949, because Marilyn Monroe was unknown at that time. The movie received a major U.S. re-release in 1953, with Marilyn getting large billing and a large image. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. There are some creases, defects, areas of paper loss and tears of varying lengths around the edges. There is some paper loss in the upper crossfold that affects the art in that area.
