An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More)

The Lily, the 1926 Victor Schertzinger silent France nobility romantic love triangle family relationship melodrama ("Should a woman forswear the one love of her life?"; "Based on the stage success adapted and presented by David Belasco from the drama by Pierre Wolff & Gaston Leroux"; about a French nobleman, who is a widower with two daughters and a son, and he insists that the older daughter have no life so that she can take care of him, and she tries to help her sister find love since she can't, and there are all sorts of romantic complications with everyone involved, but it has a happy ending where the older daughter is finally allowed to "bloom" into the beautiful lily she was born to be!) starring Belle Bennett, Ian Keith, Reata Hoyt, Richard Tucker, John St. Polis, and James Marcus. Note that the play this movie was based on was co-written in 1908 by Gaston Leroux, and a year later, he wrote his legendary novel, "The Phantom of the Opera"!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie until we received this insert! Also note that this poster is very old, and it would not make sense to attempt to roll it, as the paper is fragile and rolling it would almost surely damage it (and we would only roll it if the new owner insisted and accepted responsibility if it became damaged). Therefore we must be sent in a very large flat package. Please bear that extra shipping cost in mind BEFORE placing a bid on this poster!

Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has a 9" tear in the lower right border that extends into the credits below the title. It has a 3" tear near the bottom of the right border that extends into the woman's dress. It has an irregular tear in the upper left border that extends into the yellow background at the base of the flower. It has some smaller tears around the edges and some smudges scattered throughout. Someone put tape on the back of the above tears, but otherwise did no restoration. I would think many collectors would be happy to display this as it is, or certainly, restoration could be performed, either with or without backing the poster.
