Date Sold 11/27/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 6 mostly formerly folded special posters from Ladies' Home Journal, the magazine ("The magazine women believe in") which was founded in 1883, and as the American housewife became a greater and greater consumer (with all the new inventions intended for the home), it continued to grow in circulation, and along with McCall's, was one of the two most influential ladies' magazines. It was an early forum for women's issues, and in 1946, it adopted the slogan "Never underestimate the power of a woman", which it still uses today. At its peak in 1968, it had a circulation of 6.8 million! Note that the items in this lot are from the 1940s to the 1950s.
