An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Campaign Book Page (measures 12" x 16" [30 x 41 cm]) (Learn More) Florenz Ziegfeld's Glorifying the American Girl, the 1929 John W. Harkrider Ziegfeld Follies romantic musical ("Produced under personal supervision of Florenz Ziegfeld"; there is a nominal plot about a small town girl coming to the big city wanting to be a star and fending off wolves, but the movie is really just a showcase for Ziegfeld Follies musical and comedy acts, plus beautiful scantily clad girls, just as they were presented on stage; in between acts, the camera often shifts to the audience, showing major celebrities of the day like Texas Guinan, New York Mayor Jimmy Walker, and Adolph Zukor) starring "in revue" Mary Eaton, Eddie Cantor, Helen Morgan, Rudy Vallee, Dan Healy, Johnny Weissmuller (in his first movie, uncredited in a bit part as a barely-dressed Adonis), and Evelyn Groves (as Aphrodite). Note that a couple of Irving Berlin songs are performed in the movie, and Berlin appears in one of the cameo roles! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Alberto Vargas and H. Heyer Important Added Info: Note that this page was removed from an example of the 1929-30 Paramount Pictures campaign book. It has a thin strip across the middle that can be lifted up from the right (it is only attached on the left; we have pictured the page with the strip showing and we pictured it with the strip folded back). This is how the page was made in the campaign book (see our images). The page has great art of sexy showgirls by H. Heyer on one side, with an inset image of Ziegfeld by Alberto Vargas (back when he was signing his name "Albert Vargas"). The other side has great art of sexy showgirls that is also by Vargas, and there are four inset images of sexy actresses including Louise Brooks, Clara Bow, Fay Lanphier (the first Miss America), and Esther Ralston (which was very deceptive, because these stars did not appear in the movie, but they seem to be saying that they had been Ziegfeld girls before their fame)! Obviously, either side of this great campaign book page could be framed and displayed, but one would have to choose which side to display, because they are back to back. Condition: good to very good. The page was removed from the campaign book (see above). It was once attached to an album, and there is surface paper loss in the top and bottom of the back page (see our image).
