An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Australian Daybill Movie Poster (db; measures 14 1/2" x 39 3/4" [37 x 101 cm]) (Learn More) Easy Come, Easy Go, the 1928 Frank Tuttle silent radio broadcasting romantic crime melodrama (based on the play by Owen Davis Sr.; about a radio announcer who accidentally swears over the airwaves [shades of Don Imus] and he is fired, and gets mixed up with bank robbers, but his beautiful girlfriend sticks by him) starring Richard Dix, Nancy Carroll, Charles Sellon, Frank Currier, Arnold Kent, and Christian J. Frank. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Richardson Studio Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this Australian daybill, and that was 10 years ago. The buyer of that poster had it linenbacked and has now reconsigned it to us, so this is still the only example we have ever auctioned! Note that this is one of an amazing collection of 62 linenbacked Australian daybills that all have great art from Richardson Studio (or John Richardson, before he became "Richardson Studio"!), which many collectors feel have the best art and design of any Australian daybills, and are highly sought after by collectors. These were accumulated by a very dedicated collector over many years, and they are now being all offered at once (in 62 separate auctions), so this is a wonderful opportunity to obtain one or many of these daybills, many of which rarely are offered for sale or at auction. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had a play date written in the blank area at top. There were several horizontal creases throughout the poster. There was a 2 1/2" tear in the lower right edge and there was some tattering and small paper loss around the edges. There was some staining scattered throughout the poster (more so across the bottom of the poster, extending into the stars' images). Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
