An Original 1929 (from the first release of this movie in Germany) Vintage German Film Program (measures 8 3/4" x 11 3/4" [22 x 30 cm]; 8 pages) (Learn More) The Fleet's In, the 1928 Malcolm St. Clair silent Navy Naval military sailor romantic comedy ("Yoo-hoo girls The Fleet's In!"; about a sailor who meets a girl who works in a dance hall, but he mistakenly thinks she is a "working girl", so he doesn't want anything to do with her, but she wins him over) starring Clara Bow, James Hall, Jack Oakie, Bodil Rosing, Eddie Dunn, and Jean Laverty. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. The plot of this movie was incredibly popular! It was remade in 1936 as "Lady Be Careful" starring Lew Ayres and Mary Carlisle, again in 1942 starring Dorothy Lamour and William Holden, and again in 1952, re-titled "Sailor Beware", starring Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis! Note that Clara Bow was the most famous "flapper girl" of the mid to late 1920s (she became known as "The It Girl" after the character she played based on the popular novel by Elinor Glyn). She had a major role in Wings, and was Paramount's biggest star at that time. But she had a notorious private life and seemingly "settled down" when she married cowboy star Rex Bell in 1931 (she had two children and she retired from movies), but sadly in 1949 she went into a mental institution after a failed suicide attempt (she had had psychiatric issues for quite some time) and she was released but never returned to her family, and lived alone until her death in 1965. Important Added Info: Note that we have provided an image of four of the pages of this 8-page program (we did this by opening it and laying it flat and photographing the front and back cover together, and two of the interior pages together). You can see the four of the eight pages, and can well determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image, but realize that there are four pages you are not seeing. But of course this means that the front cover appears in the top right of our image, but normally, the program would be folded down the center and you would view the cover by itself (and it will be sent folded as was originally intended). Condition: good to very good. The program has slightly darkened around the edges. Learn More about condition grades
