An Unfolded Russian Special Poster (measures 25 1/2" x 34 1/4" [65 x 87 cm]) (Learn More) May 9 (literal translation of the Russian title), the 1966 Russian Soviet Union poster promoting Victory Day on May 9th, and featuring Dolgorukov art of the personifications of England, the United States and Germany (all with bombs on their faces), along with a photo of Soviet soldiers disposing of Nazi German banners and symbols. Victory Day is a holiday that commemorates the surrender of Nazi Germany in 1945. It was first inaugurated in the Soviet Union following the signing of the German surrender late in the evening on May 8th (May 9th on Moscow Time). The Russian Federation has officially recognized May 9th since its formation in 1991 and considers it a non-working holiday. Artist: Dolgorukov Condition: very good. The poster was never folded.
