An Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] REPRODUCTION Still (Learn More) June Allyson (born Eleanor Geisman) was a very likable actress from the 1940s to the 1980s. She was cast over and over as the "good wife", and she tried to break out of that mold playing an incredibly unsympathetic wife in "The Shrike", but the movie failed, and she returned to her good wife roles! Some of her movies include: The Glenn Miller Story, The Three Musketeers, and Executive Suite. She was the daughter of an alcoholic and she was married for a long time to actor Dick Powell, who also was an alcoholic, and sadly, after his death, she became an alcoholic, which caused a custody battle for her children with her own mother. Later in life, she became well remembered for her TV commercials for Depends! She passed away in 2006 at the age of 88. Important Added Info: Note that this REPRODUCTION still has been personally autographed (signed) by June Allyson! Also note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! The consignor of this autographed item (and a number of other signed items in this auction) is a longtime autograph collector who does not have a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) for this item, but he feels certain it is genuine. Many of the items he has consigned were purchased from an autograph store that was going out of business when the owner retired, and many of the items he has consigned to this set of auctions come from this purchase.
