Date Sold 10/26/2021 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Not So Long Ago, the 1925 Sidney Olcott silent New York City historical romantic love triangle comedy ("From the play by Arthur Richman"; about a young woman in 1850s New York who is torn between a poor suitor and a rich one) starring Betty Bronson, Ricardo Cortez, Edwards Davis, Julia Swayne Gordon, Larry Wheat, and Jacqueline Gadsdon. Note that this movie was made in 1925 about life in the 1850s, which, at that time, was around 70 years ago, and it was meant to show current day people how much simpler and enjoyable life was back in those days (including riding on a "bicycle built for two"), and of course, by today's standards, 1925 life was far more simple and more enjoyable than today's life! Also note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: This group of silent lobby cards is one of many that were consigned to us by a very long time collector. Almost all of the groups were in surprisingly nice condition, but not surprisingly, many of them had smudges or stains in the blank borders, with a few pinholes or small tears. The collector approached a restorer, and asked that all the cards have touch up performed on the fronts of the cards in the borders (as needed), but that none of them be backed in any way. You can tell that the cards have had some border restoration (some of it is more "felt" than seen), but they will display really well on the new owner's walls (or in albums). And many of these cards are from EXTREMELY rare titles! Condition: very good.
