Zanuck) starring Henry Fonda (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; as Tom Joad), Jane Darwell (winner of the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; as Ma Joad), Charley Grapewin (as Grandpa Joad), Russell Simpson (as Pa Joad), John Carradine (as Jim Casy), Dorris Bowdon (as Rose-of-Sharon Rivers, spelled as "Rosasharn" in the movie credits), Zeffie Tilbury (as Grandma Joad), Frank Darien (as Uncle John Joad), Eddie Quillan (as Connie Rivers), John Qualen (as Muley Graves), Kitty McHugh (as the diner waitress, in one of the movie's most poignant scenes), Darryl Hickman (as Winfield Joad), and Shirley Mills (as Ruthie Joad). Note that this is one of the very rare cases where a really great book is turned into a really great movie! It is not entirely faithful to the book, but it certainly captures the "spirit" of the book. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good. The still is lightly creased and rippled throughout, due to exposure to moisture and the snipes glued to the back. The title was blacked out with grease pencil and the title was stamped in the blank border to the right of that. There are also some faint smudges scattered throughout the image.
