An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) The Whole Town's Talking (released in other English-speaking countries as "Passport to Fame"), the classic 1935 John Ford romantic mistaken identity crime comedy ("'You're the man they want! But you're the man they'll get!'"; "The most exciting picture in a decade... Inspired by the biggest front page sensation in recent years"; "Blazing out of the headlines... Crashing across the screen.. The most exciting story in years."; "Based on a story by W.R. Burnett"; "Screen play by Jo Swerling and Robert Riskin") starring Edward G. Robinson ("in the best picture he ever made"; in a dual role, both as a notorious gangster, and as a mild-mannered man who looks just like the gangster and is mistaken for him, and Jean Arthur is delightful!; "In the Best Picture He Ever Made"), Jean Arthur, Arthur Hohl, James Donlan, Wallace Ford, Donald Meek, and Paul Harvey NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Not only that, but the only poster we have ever auctioned from this movie was a three-sheet that was text only. Note also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: fair to good. The poster had tough creases, separation and some tiny paper loss along all three folds. Someone put tape on the back of both of the top two folds and on the back of the left ends of the bottom fold. There also was old tape on the front and back of tears in the top and bottom center of the poster and that tape had darkened. There are other tape stains and pinholes and small paper loss around the edges. Someone performed amateur restoration to some of the above defects without backing the poster. It seems likely the poster acquired additional surface paper loss on parts of the folds since that amateur restoration was done. Obviously this incredibly rare poster can be properly paperbacked and restored, but bear in mind the poster's defects and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
