R54 Vintage Theatrical Folded Swedish Movie Poster (measures 12 1/2" x 27 1/2") (Learn More) Gosta Berlings Saga (released in the U.S. in 1928 as "The Story of Gosta Berling") , the 1924 Mauritz Stiller Swedish silent religious alcoholism romantic melodrama starring Lars Hanson (in the title role as Gosta Berling), Greta Garbo, Gerda Lundeqvist, Otto Elg-Lundberg, and A.T.H. Bunch. Note that this was Greta Garbo's second real movie role, and the one that made her a major star. In the original advertising for the movie, she is barely noted. Long after she became a major star, the movie was re-released in Sweden with Garbo top billed! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
