Note that this newsreel included news about German reinforcements in France during World War I, a girl who swam nine miles, a sailing race, an Army and Navy mock battle, and more! If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only once before auctioned this newsreel one-sheet. It was glued to the back of another poster, and the person who purchased those had them professionally separated and linenbacked, and consigned them to us, and this is not only the only example of this poster we have ever auctioned, but it is also the only poster from Hearst-Selig newsreels we have ever auctioned! Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 26 3/4" x 39 3/4" [68 x 101 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had some tears and paper loss on the folds and around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
