This means the lobby card was backed onto a heavy paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original lobby card (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. Prior to paperbacking, the card had pinholes around the edges, with a few tears and paper loss in the top right corner. It had many stains and smudges scattered throughout. Overall, the lobby card was in poor to fair condition prior to paperbacking. Someone bleached the card and backed it onto a heavy backing and then performed restoration to the above defects. The card was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects, especially in Grant's figure. Learn More about condition grades
