Michener's Hawaii, the 1966 George Roy Hill romantic tropical island melodrama ("Based on the novel by James Michener"; "James Michener's novel reaches the screen."; "Screenplay by Dalton Trumbo and Daniel Taradash") starring Julie Andrews ("as Jerusha Bromley Hale"), Max Von Sydow ("as Abner Hale"), Richard Harris ("as Rafer Hoxworth"), Gene Hackman, Heather Menzies, Carroll O'Connor, and Jocelyne LaGarde (in her nominated for Best Supporting Actress Academy Award role).
