If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that Three Stooges collectors place a high premium on posters from the shorts that had Curly in them, before he was replaced by his brother Shemp. However, those posters rarely come up for sale, and the last one-sheet we had from a Three Stooges short with Curly as one of the three leads was from 1942's "Matri-phony", and it auctioned for $4,800! Now we are auctioning this one-sheet, which is from one year earlier (and we are also auctioning the one-sheet from "Dizzy Detectives", which is from one year later), and we have never auctioned either of these one-sheets before! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The bottom 2 1/2" of the poster was trimmed off, which eliminated the words "A COLUMBIA SHORT-SUBJECT PRESENTATION" and everything below it. The left blank border was also trimmed off. The poster also had small paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. An extremely talented restorer recreated the missing bottom 2 1/2" and the left blank border, expertly recreating the missing lettering, and I would say that virtually no collectors would realize that area was recreated, even staring at the poster from inches away. Of course, one would prefer to find an untrimmed example of this poster, but it is unbelievably rare, so that wait might take many years, and of course, it is only text that is affected and text that does not relate to the specific film.
