Auction History Result BUSTER'S SPOOKS 1sh '29  Lease from Hershenson/Allen ArchiveAn Original Vintage One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh) (Learn More) Buster's Spooks, the 1929 Sam Newfield comedy short ("One of the well known 'Buster Brown' comedies by Richard F. Outcault", based on the newspaper cartoon comic strip) starring Arthur Trimble (in the title role as Buster Brown), Doreen Tunrer, and Pete the Dog. Note that Pete the Dog played Tige in all the Buster Brown movies starting in 1924. He also became Pete the Pup in the Our Gang movies, and he played that role until 1931, appearing in an amazing 90 movies over those seven years. Supposedly, he lived for another 15 years after he retired! Also note that the Stern Brothers were a very energetic pair of producers who made over 500 silent comedy shorts between 1917 and 1929!
