An Original 1928 (from the first release of this movie in Russia) Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Russian Movie Poster (measures 28 1/4" x 42 1/4" [72 x 107 cm]) (Learn More) Work or Fight, the 1918 Craig Hutchinson silent boxing sports comedy short starring Eva Novak, Harry Gribbon, May Emory, and Harry Mann. If anyone knows more about this short, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we can't say for certain if this poster is from this movie. However, the two top stars are listed on the poster, and this is the only one of the three movies that these stars worked together that dealt with boxing, so it would seem to be pretty certain. This poster does have really great different art, both of the women boxing (which was likely very unusual in 1928, when the movie was released in Russia), and also the cool headshots of the women at right with only one eye! If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a light paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (it means that the poster must be handled carefully, as the backing does not give it much added strength, but it is similar to having an unrestored poster, and yet it has been properly preserved). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards.
UPDATED 06/16/2015: As is clearly noted in the description, this poster is from the first release in Russia in 1928 (initially there was a typo in the title that said 1918, which is the year the movie first came out in the U.S.). Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had many creases and scuffs on the folds, with tiny paper loss at the crossfolds. It had many creases around the edges, with paper loss in the bottom left corner and pinholes and small paper loss in the rest of the borders. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
