Col. Heeza Liar's Ancestors, the 1924 Vernon Stallings Bray Productions silent animated animation cartoon comedy short ("He does not believe that I am his uncle"; animated by Walter Lantz; produced by John Randolph Bray). Note that the Col. Heeza Liar series started in 1913 and was apparently the first cartoon series to feature a recurring star. There were at least 59 cartoons in the series when it ended in 1924
