Rends the skies... a thunderbolt lashing and tearing its way to the drumming heights of thrilldom."; "Mortal eye has never before witnessed its like"; "A heaven torn asunder! A world flashing into space! Dazzle! Glitter!"; "Flaring panorama of sensation..."; "A juggernaut lashing and tearing its way to drumming heights of thrilldom... a love story that hits the vaulted heights of drama..."; "Thrill upon thrill"; "Packed with thrills"; "A picture in the making with six other great stars"; about World War I pilots who are forced to find work as Hollywood stunt fliers, and they work on a movie with a crazy director, played by Erich von Stroheim, who parodies himself, and there is a subplot with von Stroheim insanely jealous of his gorgeous young wife, played by Mary Astor!) starring Richard Dix, Mary Astor, Erich von Stroheim, Dorothy Jordan, Joel McCrea, and Robert Armstrong NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have only auctioned one in all our years of auctioning and that was in 2016 and it sold for $445! Also note that when this movie was released in the U.S., Erich von Stroheim's star was on the decline, and he was third billed, and the advertising had large billing and imagery of Richard Dix, but von Stroheim was far more popular in Europe, and when this movie was first released in Sweden, he was given prominent top billing, with his image above those of the other stars, and poor Richard Dix had moved to fifth billing! Condition: good. The poster has two evenly spaced vertical folds and there is minor wear on the folds. There are small tears in the bottom border with small paper loss in the left of the bottom border. There is a 1 1/2" tear in the upper right border and a 2 1/2" tear in the right of the top border and that has a piece of clear tape on the back. There are creases and faint stains in all the borders and some rippling in the lower left of the image, mostly in the background. Learn More about condition grades
