An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) A Warner Bros. Cartoon, the 1948 stock poster for theaters showing Warner Bros Looney Tunes & Merrie Melodies animated cartoons featuring great art of Bugs Bunny at a drawing table, creating images of Elmer Fudd, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, and Tweety Bird. Note that this poster has the same image as the 1952 Warner Bros. cartoon poster (they apparently re-created this poster four years later from the same plates, just changing the bottom NSS information)! Finally, note that in the 1930s, Warner Bros. made cartoon posters that had blank areas for paper snipes that would be sent separately to theaters. Apparently, this was too much trouble, and they switched to posters like these that have no blank area, and that makes for a much better looking poster than one with a big blank rectangle somewhere in the image! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster had small holes at the crossfolds and areas of paper loss across the right half of the top and bottom borders. There was a lesser amount of wear on the other foldlines. There were pinholes, creases, smudges, tears, and some areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. The person who did the restoration of this poster put new blank white paper over much of the borders to even out the appearance (but the small writing at the bottom of the poster was not covered over). This is a common technique used by several top restorers. It is done so well that the majority of collectors are not even aware it has been done, and many do not feel it to be a significant detraction (since it is only blank white area). Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
