An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Canadian One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 26 3/4" x 40" [68 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Konga, the 1961 John Lemont English/U.S. London England rampaging gorilla ape horror science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("Not since 'King Kong' ...has the screen exploded with such mighty fury and spectacle!"; "Not since 'King Kong' ...has the screen thundered to such mighty excitement!"; "in Color and SpectaMation") starring Michael Gough, Margo Johns, Jess Conrad, Claire Gordon, Jack Watson, and Paul Stockman (in the title role as Konga the gorilla). Note that the producers of the movie wisely made posters making Konga seem like King Kong, including standing tall over buildings and holding a pretty girl in his hand, but in the movie itself, Konga was a man in an ape suit and not a very convincing one, and people who went into the movie after seeing the posters must have been very confused and disappointed! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that silkscreen (also known as screen printing) is a printing technique whereby a mesh is used to transfer ink onto a poster. Only one color is printed at a time, so several screens must be used to produce a multicolored design, and it is a laborious technique because it is traditionally all done by hand. Because of the rich thickness of the layer of color on the paper and the resulting depth and brilliance achieved through silkscreen printing, this technique was preferred by many artists throughout many cultures and periods. Note also that this Canadian one-sheet measures 26 3/4" x 40" [68 x 102 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. There are a few scuff marks and smudges scattered in some areas (typical of silk screen posters). It is otherwise in pretty nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
