Date Sold 12/20/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Night After Night, the 1932 Archie Mayo New York City romantic melodrama ("danger lurks - romance flames - excitement plays in Joe Anton's Place at #55"; "A Man and His Women, but what a man and what a women!") starring George Raft (in one of his first starring roles!), Wynne Gibson ("Iris"; "Joe Anton's former sweetheart - who fought to hold his love!"), Alison Skipworth ("Miss Jellyman"; "All her life she longed for happiness - and found it teaching a gangster how to be a 'gentleman'."), Constance Cummings ("Miss Healy"; "Alone - always alone - she say in Joe's Place - waiting - for what?"), Roscoe Karns, and Mae West ("Maudie"; "She was the spirit of what the nice girl never does - but she was real!"; in her first movie role, and she was fifth billed, even though she had been a major star in the theater for many years) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this lobby card, and that was 18 years ago, when it sold for $355! Mae West was fifth billed in this movie, and she only appears on two of the eight lobby cards, and this lobby card has a much better image of her (her character is spotlighted on the left, and each card spotlighted a different character, and in this card she is not only spotlighted on the left, but also in the other image at right)! Note that there is a stamp on the back that reads "FROM THE COLLECTION OF Michael R. Hawks", who most would consider the premier lobby card collector and expert in the world (and he is still an active collector, looking for the last few items he needs!). Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. There is a tack hole in each corner and a few tiny pinhole in the left half of the bottom blank border, with tiny brown dot stains and a thin strip of darkening across the top blank border. There are a few faint smudges around the edges. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
