An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Japanese "B2" Movie Poster (measures 20 1/4" x 28 5/8" [51 x 73 cm]) (Learn More)

Koroshi no Rakuin (released in the U.S. as "Branded to Kill"), the 1967 Seijun Suzuki Japanese cult hit man Yakuza crime action thriller starring Jo Shishido, Koji Nanbara (as "Number One"), Isao Tamagawa, Anne Mari, and Mariko Ogawa. Note that Nikkatsu (the studio releasing this film) thought it was so terrible that they didn't want to release it, but a court battle ensured and director Seijun Suzuki won the right to have the film released. He also lost his contract and didn't direct another film for 10 years. This film is also among the films that had a major influence on Quentin Tarantino's film making style.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned two examples of this very rare poster in all our years of auctioning (and those examples sold for $451 and $430!). Note also that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Japanese movie! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good to very good. The poster has light fold and border wear and a few light creases. It was folded vertically slightly unevenly. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition and after a simple linenbacking the poster will look great!
