An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) The Devil Dancer, the 1927 Fred Niblo silent family relationship romantic melodrama (based on the story "by Harry Hervey"; about a white girl who is raised in a Himalayan monastery, where she is held captive, and an English explorer finds the place, and he rescues the girl and falls in love with her, but his sister is appalled and hires Muslim entertainers to kidnap her and he eventually finds her dancing with them!) starring Gilda Gray (in the title role as Takla, The Devil Dancer), Clive Brook, Anna May Wong, Serge Temoff, and Michael Vavitch. Note that around the time this movie was made, actress Gilda Gray had created a dance craze with a new dance called "The Shimmy", and it was a natural for her to appear as a dancer in a movie! Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good.
