A Folded Travel Poster (measures 19 3/4" x 26 3/4" [50 x 68 cm]) (Learn More)

Vacation on the Riviera, the 1940s military travel poster ("Theater Special Services invites you to Vacation on the Riviera"; "See your unit Special Services officer") intended for the U.S. military in Europe after World War II (WWII), and featuring art of several destinations on the Riviera. It may seem surprising that travel agencies would aim advertising specifically to soldiers stationed in Europe, and it is reflective of how inexpensive European travel was at this time, and how U.S. soldiers were paid enough to take advantage of this!

Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned this poster before! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: very good. The poster was folded like a U.S. one-sheet, and it has minor fold and border wear, with some faint creases scattered throughout.
