An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Barnacle Bill, the 1941 Richard Thorpe waterfront sailor family relationship romantic comedy ("That funny pair is together again! Wally and Margie are a Riot!"; this was an attempt by MGM to recapture the big successes that Wallace Beery had with Marie Dressler in the early 1930s, but Dressler was no longer alive, so MGM substituted Marjorie Main, another "battleaxe" type, plus they gave Beery a daughter he never knew he had, played by Virginia Weidler) starring Wallace Beery (in the title role as Bill Johansen), Marjorie Main, Leo Carrillo, Virginia Weidler, Donald Meek, and Barton MacLane NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: good. There are two cracks in the top right corner of the glass, but solely in the blank border. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass. Learn More about condition grades
