An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Operation Pacific, the 1951 George Waggner World War II (WWII) Navy Naval military submarine action thriller ("Up From the Floor of the Sea to a High Mark in Excitement!"; "He's skipper 'DUKE' Gifford who could put a torpedo through a needle -- and sew up a date with a laugh"; "He could shoot a torpedo through a needle and sew up a date with a laugh!"; "Here's the U.S. Submarine 'Thunderfish' and the guys who made it go! It's the story of Skipper Duke Gifford who crowded a big chunk of America into a lone-prowler sub and took on anything afloat!"; "The dive-for-glory torpedo-devils of the submarine 'Thunderfish'... the crew that fought along the sea's bottom to keep Uncle Sam on top!"; "Roaring Up From the Floor of the Sea to a High Mark in Excitement!") starring John Wayne ("He's Skipper 'Duke' Gifford"), Patricia Neal, Ward Bond, Philip Carey, and Scott Forbes NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). very good to fine. There was a 1" tear in the vertical foldline 3" above the "W" of "WAYNE". There were tiny holes at the crossfolds, pinholes in the corners, and minor fold and border wear. The poster was in nice condition prior to linenbacking and looks quite nice now! Learn More about condition grades
